We are a very small Community with a pool 10mx4m. Electricity costs are currently approx €4000pa. Has anyone installed a solar pump on a similar size pool? Would one be a good investment? What were the initial costs? Presumably if we had one we’d still need to rely on electricity during the summer nights and winter months.
Advice would be welcomed

You could use a variable speed pump

Something is not right with your electricity bill. I live on a community with a 10 x 5 metre pool and our electricity bill for 2021 was €895. The pump was running for 2600 hours last year, on average approx 7 hours a day.

Good afternoon Kentsoc,

My (private) pool is also 10 x 4 and my average monthly electric bill from June (when I moved to Benijofar) to December last year (just checked it and appreciate bills have increased significantly, of late) was 103 euros. This figure obviously includes my home etc. The 4,000 figure you quote equates to approx 300 monthly and doesn't seem right to me or am I missing something? Incidentally, I run my pump for 3 hours daily during the winter months and 5 or 6 hours during the summer. The pool / water always looks great but I also use Jolly Gel flocculent!

Hope this helps?

Manus
