Anyone recommend a decent bar or restaurant between Alicante airport and, say, Villajoyosa, open Sunday’s. Collecting friends from airport around 12.30 ish and we live quite a long way from there, Northern costa Blanca. They would like to stop enroute to eat something. But, we don’t want to have to drive around towns, find car parking and then walk a distance. Would prefer going on the old road rather than motorway. Any suggestions gratefully received. Thank you all.

Restaurante La Cova, El Campello, overlooking the marina would appear to fit the bill. They do a fixed price menu, the food and service are excellent and plenty of free car parking next to the restaurant.

Colmars restaurant on N332 between El Campello and Villajoyosa is lovely, easy off road parking (especially if you’re driving north from airport) and wonderful eating terrace overlooking the sea down to Alicante
