Rip Off Airport Car Storage

Folks,

I work overseas in a rotational employment position so travel in/out of Alicante every 28 Days.

For the past 10 Montgs, during my time away, I have been paying to store my car indoors in a fully environmentally protected location....or so my contract told me!

When I returned in December my car was delivered to me having been damaged during heavy hail storms whilst I was away. The airport car drop off guy mumbled some excuses and told me contact the Company HQ, which I have done, numerous times, by phone and email.

The car storage Company accept that the car was damaged and they are in breach if contract however they will do nothing to resolve the situation and advise their insurance company 'will contact me'....which they havent, now 5 Weeks later!!

I am obviously furious, it was a lovely Audi A5 sportsline.

I would like to advise everyone not to use this Company and encourage all to share this post please.

The Company name is 1-Parking...a screenshot of their page is provided!

What to do in such cases: Before driving away ask for an official complaint sheet, specify all the damages in detail and have them sign it. Then, get an estimate for the repair cost and claim the parking operator, NOT any insurance company you may be given - that would result endless, The parking operatror is fully responsible not only for any damage but also for the belongings contained in the vehicle. Any legal action would result in your favour. (Art. 1758 Spanish Civil Code)

Hi Tommy,

Sorry to hear about this and thanks for the warning. However, your contract is with 1-Parking, not their insurance company. If you paid for under-cover parking (Zone 3), there's sufficient information in the company's Ts&Cs on their website to support your claim, so pursue the matter direct with them.

The OP has approached the company which is dragging its feet.

Your next move is to contact your own insurer, which in truth you should have done immediately, and let them take it forward. If liability has been admitted then it should be a very straightforward claim and at no cost to you.

If the damage is extensive it's quite possibly it could be a write off!
