Hi just wandering who's best to get in touch with because the other day I got the bloke from Flexa internet to come and install broadband at our property. After 2hrs of trying to get the cable from our house through a pipe which leads to a locked panel on the front wall he said it was impossible because there must have been some kind d of blockage somewhere.Im now screwed cos I don't know what I can do about it.So if anyone has had similar problem could you let me know please.Thanks.

We use DVBLabs which, although going fibre, can also set up a small dish (about 6 inches) for you and get it connected that way. Not as fast as fibre but plenty good enough for our use.

I use the same package as Marcliffe, I am just down the road from you in La Florida.

Dvblab provide a consistent 10mb download speed, nowadays this doesn't sound much at all I accept that but I can confirm that I stream live football matches all the time with no buffering issues, for live events 10mb is plenty, if you are wanting to do much more than this then speak to Dvblab about alternatives, they are an excellent company.

Are you really getting 10gb doiwnload speed? Virgin in the UK only go to c1,100mb/s.

But I digress, when I first came here we didn't have fibre so had the little dish installed similar to what Marcliff described (ours was done by NoLimit)..

That generated more than sufficient speed for 2 x IPTV units - one in the living room and one in the bedroom and I don't recall ever having any issues with buffering.

We've since upgraded to fibre when it became available and continue to have no issues.

Hi

There has been a slow but steady number of issues with Flexa mentioned on this forum, though it's usually about difficulties with contacting them. The excuse about a blockage sounds a bit flimsy to me.

If you still want fibre, I know that Ole can supply it in your general area - perhaps you could try them? https://olecomunicacion.net/

I would normally also suggest Avatel, but I believe they took over Flexa not too long ago - so that might be part of the problem.

Cheers

Steve
