Take a virtual walk on google maps streetview and imagine how it will be in July and August when community pools will be at their busiest and noisiest. Find out how much the community charges are and read the rules.
To live year round you will need a decent heating system as there is very little insulation in Spanish houses. I understand that air con on heating mode is cheaper than running it on cooling.
There are many social groups to meet people and make friends.
A recent post (maybe on Talk Quesada, I can't remember) was from someone, having moved into a hilly area, having concerns about how they would get to the shops etc up and down the hills. I imagine they fell in love with the house and the views but when you are living here full-time, reality sinks in.

The main problem I would see in letting friends and family stay there is the cost of air conditioning and who will clean it to your standards and wash and change the linen and towels at the end of their stay.
