My husband is in Los Altos for a few days, pour cooker needs a new element and we have no idea were to get one from. we are trying to avoid buying a new cooker when all it needs is a new elemen, please could someone advise were we can get one

I'd look at the website for the manufacturer and see if it covers supply of spares, or gives details of appointed service agents local to you.
You could also find spares online, e.g.:
Neigbours got one from the internet, had it delivered.
