Hi

Has anyone been stopped at Alicante or one of the ferry ports and asked to show proof of address and proof of funds in light of the new ruling?

If so regarding proof of funds what exactly are they satisfied with,  credit cards, cash,  bank statements etc

Thanks in advance

Darrel

Hi Darrel,

I've yet to hear of any UK citizen being stopped and asked for this information.  However, a credit card with sufficient available credit limit, or a current bank statement, will be sufficient for proof of funds.  Thankfully, many of us can access these things very quickly on our mobile phones.

For proof of address, house deeds, rental contract, or hotel booking will suffice, but again, I've yet to hear of a UK citizen being asked for this.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi Kim

Thanks for the info, yes I dare say it's better to be prepared rather than to encounter problems at the last minute

Darrel

Better to be prepared.

One point,  this isn't a new ruling.

I’ve been through Alicante Airport 4 times this year. Haven’t been stopped for Covid or these checks that are in the headlines. They have been around for years. I wouldn’t worry about them.
