Hello

On receipt of the new TIE cards does anyone know the rules on leaving Spain and re entering the country?

Is there a time window for example once you receive the TIE you cannot leave the country within 3 months/6 months

and also the maximum time you can stay away?

Thank you

Darrel

Hello Darrel

If this /is your first time of having residencia /TIE then your card is classed as temporary for 5years, during that time rules do apply      Heres a link that explains how it works.  There are better links that are a bit clearer but I can't find one at the moment.  As soon as travel restrictions allow, you can use your TIE card, there is no limited time before you can leave

Hi

Thank you

Yes very useful information and it is my wife's first time card

On that basis will she have to wait for a qualifying period before she can leave the country for any reason subject to travel restrictions being eased

Thanks

Good video.

The British Consul appeared to say that the S1 process is still valid for healthcare. She was non-specific on the scope of application, and therefore seemed to imply that the process is still in place going forward for UK pensioners.

I have difficulty reconciling this with the UK Gov website (quoted below).

Can anybody reconcile this for me ?

If UK pensioners wishing to retire to Spain continue to benefit fro S1 healthcare, this is really good news.

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/living-in-spain#healthcare

====================
State healthcare: S1

If you have a registered S1 form and were living in Spain before 1 January 2021, your rights to access healthcare will stay the same from if you are either:

  • receiving a UK State Pension
  • receiving some other ‘exportable benefits’
  • a frontier worker who lives in Spain and commutes to work in the UK

Read our guidance on using an S1 form in Spain to ensure you are correctly registered in healthcare.

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

Hi thank you

But on receiving the new TIE, does she have to wait for example 3/ 6 months before she can leave the country for any specific reason?
