I plan to drive my right hand drive be camper over and use it in Spain . The rear has a left hand sliding door and also a rear  tail gate. I have been told that it will fail an MOT in Spain because the sliding door opens on the left into the traffic if parked on a road. I can also enter the van from the rear tailgate. Can anyone  give me some info on this please .

It depends whether it's treated as a car or campervan, and it looks more like a car (SUV) to me. If a campervan, then it couldn't be transferred onto Spanish plates because the rear entry door is on the wrong side.

I'd advise that you contact the expert on transferring vehicles to Spanish plates and ask him:

Hi,

I have to reply to this post .

Firstly it does not look like a car it looks like a Campervan and a very tidy one at that! Credit to you.

We have a T5 UK reg th hand drive opening side door opening back door, it's mint travelled all over Spain in it!

Ours is registered by our Spanish/English Insurers here in Spain , MOTD taxed .

Everything singing and dancing mint condition !

You will have no problem driving it down to Spain unless it's a bag of bones scrappy and not insured taxed or MOTD.

Without these illegal anyway.

Easy enough to transfer onto Spanish plates. It will cost though.

Happy motoring!

There are many Campsites here too!

Linda.

You will have to register it and change to spanish they will not give you a motor on English plates
