Can anyone recommend an English speaking doctors practice in Los dolses?Do you have to register with a practice or is it better to use private medical services? What is the emergency number for an ambulance in spain?

Fire, police and ambulance in Europe is 112.

Are you a permanent resident? Do you have private medical insurance?

Google hospitals in Los Balcones, Spain and this will provide with at least 3 facilities. Do the same for doctors and browse their Web pages, if they have one and it may provide you with the languages they can converse in.

GHIC/EHIC cards can only be used in Public Health Centres and Hospitals. They entitle you to the same treatment as Spanish citizens and are for emergency treatment only, they are not a replacement for travel insurance. You have to pay for private treatment in Private Hospitals and clinics. Do you not have travel insurance? If you have this may be acceptable in Private establishments providing you have declared pre existing conditions (if this is what the nature of your visit is) to the insurance company when you took the policy out. GHIC and EHIC are only valid for visits of less than three months. This link provides information about the use of GHIC/EHIC cards:

Thankyou.

There is a public health centre at Cabo Riog and also a private clinic above the large pharmacy on the corner of the car park where Consum is.

Your nearest public hospital is Torrevieja.
