I am now Resident in Spain.    Is there any way I can hold a UK Bank account.    Halifax seem to think not.

Hi Paddy,

I moved permanently to Spain last May. Before I moved I advised my UK bank - Natwest - that I was doing so and they said no problem to keeping my account.

No reason whatsoever why you shouldn't have a UK bank account.

The only problem you would have is if you tried to open a new account or apply for a credit card when you're resident out here.

Thanks Steve.     It must just be Halifax being silly buggers.    Patrick

Hi we moved to Spain last year and told the Halifax and they said it wasn't a problem. When we got a permanent address we changed our address with them and it was fine. We still have our account there.

Hi Josie.      Thanks.      I think the problem is opening a UK bank account once you have moved to Spain.    Patrick
