Hi, I am returning to the UK next Monday (25th October) and understood that from next week, the Day 2 test needed for entry is an antigen/lateral flow test.  However, I am trying to book a test and the providers listed on the UK Government website seem to be only offering the more expensive PCR test.  Does anyone know a reputable source that offers the lateral flow Day 2 test please?  Any clarifications most welcome.  with thanks in advance

Officially they are not supposed to be selling them until the 22nd, but if you look here you will find them on sale now.

The antigen test is only for the double jabbed returning to England. The other home countries are sticking to PCR testing at the moment.

Hi Cath,

I am travelling back late next week and I have started looking around at antigen tests. I came across the attached from Which magazine:

https://www.which.co.uk/news/2021/10/travel-news-cheap-pcr-covid-19-test-discount-randox-express-test-c19-expert-medicals/

I see that some providers are offering discounts depending upon the airline you are travelling with.

Thanks Aitch - the link from Lynn provided the test for £19 and I was able to book it and obtain the required number for the UK Passenger Locator Form.  I have also just partially completed that but need to do the rest within 48 hours of arrival.

Thanks for your help with the article.

All the best

Cath

That's a good price, I used testing4all earlier this year for PCR tests when we had to have day2 and 8 testing, they were very efficient so it's a good recommendation from Lynn.  Hope it goes well.

Rgds,

Aitch.

You don’t register your test until you are ready to use it on Or before Day 2 of your arrival back in the U.K.

You need the booking reference off your email to enter on to your passenger locator form.

The reference you are looking for for a Randox test will begin with RANDX then a series of approx 8 numbers. The form should thencomplete and then you will get an email and you click on download to get the QR code.

Are you putting in the exact time that the flight is scheduled to arrive and using the 24 hour clock?

Where are you flying to and with which airline?

If you’re flying with Jet 2 they could have changed your flight to a non direct flight, which has become fairly common for Friday flights.
