Price of taxis

Hi all,

I have had an apartment in Torrevieja for 15 years and at the minute if I need a taxi to and from Alicante airport I am paying 50€ day time 55€ At night , 75€ When there are 5 people , using Taxis Torrevieja and booked in advance. I am buying in Los Montesinos and have searched online for a 5 seater taxi back to airport from Los Mos. The best I could find was 120€ !! Big difference for approximately the same journey. Can I still use Taxis Torrevieja? I know they have rules about zones for taxis.

I’d like to hear other people’s experiences.

I think that any legally registered booked taxi can pick up from airport and drop off in any area they are willing to go to (no zone rules on that as far as I know) However the Zones rules kick in when they are asked to pick up in an area out of their Zone. So the Torrevieja taxi could, if they agree, pick you up from airport to take you home but can't pick you up from Montesinos to go to airport apparently. For instance if a local taxi takes you to another town out of their area, then they will usually give you a taxi number to bring you back.
