Friends love the idea of almonds, of which we (and probably all of you have or will have tones).

So, sending them to the UK, unshelled poses 2 questions,

  • Health as in acceptability
  • Tax as even as a gift.

Views please? Government resources would be good, have scanned severel. Opinion is welcome too.

Figure how to vac Pac them...

Cheers,

D

Hello

My thoughts are....I'm not really sure about that one, sending them etc.  Suppose you could try sending a small box full(shoe box) first and see how it goes.

You can buy vacume bags from any Chinese shop for a few quid.  You need a hoover to get the air out.  I use them for packing my clothes in the suitcase.

Good luck with that 👍

Sue 😘

I'm not sure but might be subject to phytosanitary inspection upon arrival in UK.

The regulations around foodstuffs being exported between the EU and the UK has stepped up to a level where lorry drivers have had their sandwiches confiscated.I found this but you've probably seen the same.  https://www.gov.uk/guidance/importing-plants-fruit-vegetables-or-plant-material-to-the-uk

Let us know if you decide to do it, it's be intersting to hear how you go on.

Yes Killjoy ;-)...same thought process. The UK supermarkets have their supply chain which is 'clean' / bug free....

Stay well ;-)

Thanks Paul ;-) ...yes interesting times. The UK supermarkets have bridged this otherwise they wouldn't be selling imported nuts or fruit. Will post as I discover.

Stay well!
