Hi I have been told by my architect that I can have an above ground pool as licences are not granted for in ground pools due to my locality. As I want quite a large one on the lower terrace so it will look like an affinity pool once decking is installed I was wondering if anyone knew of any company’s that full install them. Similar to the one     attached  but rectangle.

Hi Jools

I see you are in Monovar. From the construction you have described and seeing your location, I would be very surprised if you did not need any licence for the works. I would definitely check this out before you proceed. Monovar has a reputation for being a difficult area for any works to be approved. I am not saying they do not approve, just that their process is always talked about as being a lot more difficult.

This was a major factor in our choice not to purchase land under control of the Monovar Ayto as most builders in the area prefer not to work in Monovar and choose to build elsewhere.

Hi Jules,

I will PM you with details for a 'pool person' - they are in our area and will probably know. Maybe also try the guys at Alicante Dream Homes (Paula, James, Gary and Mike) on Ronda de la Constitucion, Monovar as they may know, being involved in building projects in our area?

BTW that was an interesting insight UKHandyMan...I didn't know that but as we have just moved there, good intel, thanks ;-)

Cheers

Thank you the architect has already asked the town hall. They have looked at it and said I don’t need a licence for it as I can remove all the parts.

The house has been 2 years in total renovation so know what Monovar  town hall is like 😫 didn’t know at time of purchase but heyho you live and learn. 🤣

Love my house just need to sort the land and garden now

Glad you have checked it out, sounds like the pool has the go-ahead then which is great news. Was there no restriction in terms of the decking construction? It appears you would be building your deck at the top of the pool level to create the effect you desire? I may have misunderstood you though.

I do not know if they do pool constructions but you could also try Simply Pools.

Hope it helps

Just a heads up. Go back to the town hall and ask for that in writing. (That you don't need a licence.) In my experience, they can change their minds a couple of years down the line and you could end up with a massive fine or be forced to remove it.

Hi yes

The pool will be on the bottom terrace and from what I can make out from the Architect as long as it can all be removed and put back to the original land it’s not a problem.

This picture is old so the house dosnt look much like this anymore now it has totally been reformed

As Charlie has mentioned, I would take your plans into the Ayto for what you want to do. Show them and get them to give you written confirmation you do not need a small works permit.

Monovar is more strict than our Ayto and we have to have permits for building BBQs etc so I will be very surprised if you don't need anything!

That said, I do not know for sure, if that makes sense? I do not want to advise you incorrectly
