Bank recommendations?

Once resident in Moraira I would recommend BBVA On Line account which carries NO FEES Nor restrictions on input. There is a large branch in the main area of town which can be used for face to face queries if needed. You should also consider a Wise single- or multi-currency account for transfers from non-Euro accounts worldwide. Their transfer costs are notably lower than others.

I've been with Sabadell for nearly eight years and have no complaints at all. However, I would not recommend their insurance to anyone. 

I would also recommend Sabadell. Maria in particular is extremely helpful and efficient. My lawyer set my account up for me initially so yours would probably do the same - also some of the estate agents also offer help with that sort of thing. On the topic of agents would highly recommend Coast & Country - their office is in Moraira town centre. Good luck ! 

Is there a Santander or Barclays in Moraira area...do you know if they do mortgages ? Any idea what LTV these banks offer ? Any advice gratefully accepted. 

If you are not intending to be resident don't open a spanish bank account. It is unecessary and they are expensive and aggro.

I am based in the UK and have an account with BBVA Moraira they have not sent me a new debit card and I cannot get through on the phone nor can I find the Moraira address online. Could you find it for me. Many thanks David

Zebr, please, please, please for your own sanity do not seek an account with Caixa bank. They are supposidly an online bank but you can't contact anyone oneline. I was given a card with details of how to contact my branch advisor. Emailed her on the 10th of October, I still await a reply. Tried calling the branch, phone rang out. Tried to contact online customer service. I was on the line for 1 and a half hours. Phone was answered and call was terminated 2 minutes later. I have been locked out of my online account since July. I now have to make a 3000 mile round trip to get access so that I can close the account. They asked that I come to my local branch so they could verify my identity. This, I was informed while in branch, could be done with my NIE number, which I did not have with me. I asked why this was necessary when they had copied it to my details in branch in September. Answer, "Oh during the changeover we lost it in the system"!!!!!
