Has anyone driven an electric( not hybrid)car from UK to Costa Blanca? I am trying to plan a route from Eurotunnel Calais and would like to know personal experiences to compare with app. locations for chargers etc.
Seen plenty of Dutch,German,French,Belgian and Scandinavian EVs around So certainly possible.Make a nice mini adventure I would think.I did read an article last year of some Welsh football supporters driving to Qatar for the World Cup.Made it all the way to Saudi but Saudi wouldn’t let their RHD MG EV in.No RHD allowed in Saudi apparently.

I have not done it personally but someone I met in the UK last year had done it a couple of times, with a Kia EV. I don't recall what he said about France but he did say the first time driving through Spain was pretty stressful. He then discovered Iberdrola have a good app and a extensive charging network across Spain which made it a lot easier on the second trip.
A German couple we played golf with (last year again) drove down from Stuttgart with no issues though he had a Tesla, who have their own charging network. The car planned the trip for them more or less.
Aitch.

I have done the drive from Manchester to Alicante in my Kona EV. Unfortunately I did the drive from Santander not France. I used the Iberdrola app in Spain. Basically drove to around 30% ish then looked for the nearest charge point. Be careful as a lot of the charge points are in multistorey carparks (I found with my roof box on). They are also not very clearly marked. Lots are in towns not on the main roads so you could be going 15mins into town and back. Iberdrola was best as the charge points tended to be working. Lots of the others needed different apps which didn't always work. It's a bit of an experience driving across Spain in an EV but is getting better.

Many thanks. It will be a while yet due to an imminent knee replacement, so I'll keep an eye out for posts re: improvements!

there is a website called chargemap which gives information about where all the chargers and prices are in France. most villages seem to have at least one charger. I haven't used a street charger in France as we do not venture very far in our ev and we can charge it at home with a domestic socket, hope this helps, cheers martin

Just be careful with chargemap. It also takes you to charge points on garages that are not for public use..
What kind of EV do you have ?
We do it several times a year in our Tesla.
We also use the Eurotunnel.

We only have a Leaf with 150/160 mile range so multiple charges necessary!

In the same vein as this post my car runs on LPG aka Autogas, GPL, propane etc. When we first came we had the same problem in finding filling places but it's so much better now, not even a problem, anyway if all else fails we can just go back to petrol.
Your EV charging points will do the same, but be patient. It took 10 years with the LPG!!!
For LPG filling places there is no better place to go than https://www.mylpg.eu/ It covers the whole of Europe.
You also get the opportunity to go onto the site to update it with the latest prices and info to help others as I have found things can change quite quickly.
