We obtained our visas and moved to Spain 2 weeks ago. Our agents have been seeking a TIE appointment without success because apparently they are in short supply. We're assured that the 31 day rule will not matter too much but it is worrying that we cannot get an appointment because we need to return to UK for few days to wrap up some other issues. My understanding is that you cannot leave Spain whilst awaiting a TIE appointment without special permission. So I guess that leaves us in limbo until a TIE appointment is eventually available whenever that is. Has anyone got similar experience on how long it takes to get TIE and/or returning to UK without TIE? Thanks

We went to our Hestor in Moraira who made a phone call and I got an appt the next day.  This was a couple of years ago during the spurge of when everyone was trying to get one.

I obtained TIEs for myself and a number of friends last year and the year before during the initial rush, fairly easily. This morning I checked the government website for making appointments and it wouldn't allow me access. If you'd like to try yourself the link is

https://sede.administracionespublicas.gob.es/icpco/index.html but it may be worth trying a different Gestor. That's the reason I became popular, my friends' various Gestors kept them waiting whereas I obtained mine easily - from what I saw outside the TIE office many seem to wait until they have a number of applicants and then take them all together.
