There are ant insect spray to buy. A local Spanish explained, granual detergent for washing machines type, seem to do the job. The ants (I was told) took them back to their home and eraticate the nest. Can't confirm, but.......? Villas.

I use ant traps.. again they take the contents back to the nest... only way to do it.

If it's the tiny ones that you can only spot when they move, then they'll only be around for about 3 weeks.

After cleaning walls and floors, I spray Maton or Oro around window and door frames - you can get it from supermarkets and some Chinese bazaars.  If my woof doesn't eat all his food when I put it down, I cover his bowl and wipe all around his mat - even the smallest flick of dog meat on the floor can start a march! - and, as you're doing, wiping down all work surfaces on a regular basis will help to ensure there's nothing to attract them.

Kind regards,

Kim

It’s all out war I’m afraid. To echo Kimmy above - animals, disaster!!! Two cats who like to ‘nibble’ at their food bowls and return later to polish it off. Forget to pick it up (my life is spent running around after them!) and cover it and I come down to find two horrified felines regarding their seething dishes with grave suspicion.

And despite washing down work surfaces etc etc - yes, on occasion I actually undertake housework!!! - they still seem to run freely around the kitchen.

No idea where they come from, the traps appear to have no effect, so I ruthlessly eliminate whenever I see them. I need a Dalek - exterminate...............!!!

I've sorted the pets solution. I got tried with the cats sucessfully.(they just got used to not having without food, when they went and died.....) no, now sorted new pets.....Ants. They clean up, & always go home at night. Sorted. Villas.
