Anyone any experience of taking cash out on these cards and know what sort of charges are being encountered?

Thanks

I use the Wise card to make withdrawals, if I use one of the Spanish banks I am charged approx 1.85€, however I have found that if I use the Euro cash machines, the ones usually outside the Tobacco shops, although it says I will be charged 2.50€ for the withdrawal I have never been charged this. I use them all the time now and never pay a fee.

I am not guaranteeing it will work for you, but maybe worth trying at least once.

I have both of these accounts too.

I tend not to use the Wise card for cash withdrawals as they have a limit of 2 withdrawals per month, other than this Wise is brilliant. ( although jtbedford may have found an anomaly )

Starling atm withdrawals took me a good while to find a free atm but if you have a Deutsche bank near you then try that, the one in La Zenia is definitely free.

As a back up to Starling I have a UK Santander account which gives free withdrawals in Spain at Santander atm's.

Hi jtbedford

I'll try my Wise card in a Euro ATM, thanks for the tip! I can also confirm that Deutsche Bank is free.

Cheers

Steve

Will give @jtbedford tip a go.

It still seems cheaper to buy large amounts (£1500+) in the UK, even at less desirable rates,  rather than be limited and/or pay additional charges for Wise withdrawals.

Also seems to be the case for Starling unless I can get free withdrawals at an ATM as I would have to pay an ATM fee on 5 X €300 withdrawals. No Deutsche bank around me I don't think.

I will keep looking in to it.

Hi Kenbo,

Can you tell me where nearest the Santander atm is to La florida.

Also I’m sure I saw a Deutsch bank atm in the La Zenia boulevard shopping centre if this is any help to anyone.

Many thanks,

Frank.

Hi Frank

There are Santander ATMs at Punta Prima and Cabo Roig. My missus has accounts with them in both Spain and UK and gets free withdrawals - however, iirc, the two accounts have to be Santander 123 (or whatever that has evolved into), but I could be wrong, or out of date, or both!

And yes there is a Deutsche Bank ATM in the Boulevard, close to the fountains.

Cheers

Steve

Hi Frank

Sorry for the delayed reply, was travelling, just arrived in La Florida.

Nearest Santander to us is in Punta Prima, next door to the old Marco Polo bar, same strip as Ghandi.

As for Deutche bank, the only one I know of is on La Zenia roundabout, on the corner as you head down to the beach.

Ken

Seems there is a Deutsche Bank in Moraira on the Calpe Road near Cala L'Andragó

anyone know if it is still open and has an ATM?

Thanks
