No. All you need is an internet connection (wifi).

If you want official UK apps, like iPlayer, Hub, all4, my5, skygo to work, you will need to use a VPN or SmartDNS to "hide" the fact you are trying to use UK based content outside the UK.
Alternatively, just use another "third aprty" app that will not have the "geoblocked" restrictions

Please take note of the post from the Sat and PC Guy, it is excellent advice.
I use smartdnsproxy and a web search will take you to their page. It is not as costly as a VPN and does not throttle your internet speed either.
