We are booked to fly to Alicante for a holiday in Moraira on 24th July. Whilst this is not fully confirmed in Scotland yet with regards to air bridges, I'd just like to ask how things are in Moraira? Is everything starting to open up again and what, if any, are the restrictions on movement around town.

Many thanks

There are no serious restrictions. Restaurants and bars have reopened although a few remain closed.

Taken from the N332 Facebook page, which is run in collaboration with officers of the Guardia Civil for English speaking people.

A reminder about the ‘New Normality’ in SpainAs borders are now open and people start to come into Spain, we thought we’d write up a little ‘reminder’ of the regulations that continue in the New Normality. You can share this post to friends who are visiting soon if they don’t know about the different rules Throughout ALL of Spain:- Face masks continue being obligatory for all persons over the age of 6 years old, in open and closed spaces where the 1.5m social distance cannot be maintained. If you are in a bar consuming drinks or food, you may remove the mask. If you on the beach, too, as long as the 1.5 metre distance is being maintained from others. Fines can be given out to those not wearing masks when they should be. Any mask is fine, as long as it covers mouth & nose. (See image for all info)- Maintain social distancing (1.5m) always when possible.Main points of interest in different autonomous communities (we have chosen these 3 areas as they are where most of our followers are from): In Comunidad Valenciana:- Maximum capacity in closed spaces: 75%- Beaches and swimming pools: the Generalitat calls for the installation of removable walkways on the beaches to guarantee the safety distances. The pools may open to 75% of their capacity. All the regulations for Comunidad Valenciana here: http://infocoronavirus.gva.es/documents/170024890/170113641/PDF+ENLACE_CAS+%282%29.pdf/83c234c6-cf1f-4b70-b827-5ba615803431

This blog explains what has been happening in Moraira and some helpful tips at https://www.villaspain.co.uk/blog/hello-from-spain but now all shops, bars and restaurants are open . Masks are required when going into a supermarket or open market  , but not say a furniture store .  Some people are wearing masks in the street, but is not a requirement when social distancing of 1.5 mts can be made. No requirement on beaches or restaurants either for the same reason.

Hi Jacqui, we arrived in Moraira yesterday from London Heathrow. Make sure you fill out and print off the form with the QR code as this will save you time when you arrive into Alicante! Only a couple of flights coming in so luggage etc very quick, quiet at the airport. There are plenty of restaurants open in Moraira With more opening 6th July. It is however, very quiet for this time of year, with very few people around in the town but also plenty of tables available even down by the port. Masks to be worn in supermarkets and in any location where social distancing isn’t possible. I’m sure it will get busier as time goes on.

Great. Thank you. I really hope rules are relaxed and we’re allowed to fly. Enjoy your holiday.

I was in Moraira last week although it was a bit quite all shops and restaurants were open.

Just remember to have a mask in your possession at all times.
