I am waiting for my Spanish Driving Licence after completing the exchange process with my gestor and receiving the temporary
paper document. I went online to see my status and discovered the DGT had my ID as 'posted'.

I then discovered the miDGT application https://sede.dgt.gob.es/es/appmidgt/

The new DGT tool that combines all your information and allows you to manage directly with the DGT on your phone. App available for download for free on Apple App Store and Google Play for Android.

To ensure secure access to the application you must have a digital certificate installed on your mobile or have cl@ve pin or cl@ve permanent.

I had to reconfigure my mobile phone region to Spain to access the app. Now loaded, I have sight of my 'live' driving licence with classifications and points. I can update my address records and look at vehicle details owned.

The Directorate General of Traffic offers you a free mobile application so that you can carry your driving license and the documentation of your vehicles in digital format on your mobile. You can also request from it the report of a vehicle, buy fees to carry out your procedures or share the documentation of your vehicles.

From 1 March 2021 the Police will accept the phone app as evidence of your licence without the need to carry a physical card.
