Speeding Fine

€40 will be the hire companies charge for providing driver information to the authorities not the fine itself.

You may receive a fine notification in UK but it's will be unenforceable and an attempt to scare you into paying.

Of course if you did the crime as you admit then morally you should pay but that's between you and your conscience.

Q: Has anybody got personal first hand experience of receiving such a fine notification and not paying it?

It's a €100 fine, with 50% off for payment within 20 days.

The piece pretty much affirms what I said.

€100 - €40 = €60 so how is that a 50% discounted €100 fine?

I've actually just read that article and it would appear to be aimed at vehicles registered  in one EU country being driven in another. Really useful as I do intend to take my UK vehicle to Spain at some stage.

It does however give me some comfort though as it would appear the points won't attach to my UK licence so at least that's a positive!

I guess I'll just have to wait and see!

I drive to and from Spain on a regular basis. I use to motor hard on the A and AP roads from Pamplona, Zaragoza, Teruel etc. Most of these roads are 2 lanes and quiet and can sustain high speeds

However, now they enforce in the UK I take it easy.

IN fairness to the Spanish static cameras are heavily publicised so to get nicked you have either ignored the signs or not been concentrating 

Moving on - the €40 is the admin charge, and is not part of the fine, which will be another €100, or €50 if paid off early

Guilty of not concentrating - Flight was over 2 hours delayed and it was almost 3 am!!!
