Hi Jules

I'm looking at getting a place in Moraira probably later this summer. I am the same age as you, currently living in Perth, Western Australia (homesick Brit), with my aussie parter Dave. I am a retired nurse. I would love to meet up for drinks, meals shopping. Drop me an email

Hi Jules

Have also recently moved to the area (Altea) and would love to meet up when you get here. I am recently separated freelance designer/illustrator looking for similar friends for social activities.

Get in touch,

Lorna (49)

Hi all,

This is my first post, I've been following similar threads to this for the last few weeks, and thought it was about time I got involved. Myself and husband are seriously thinking of moving to this area in the next few months, we have a UK house sale going through, then we plan to travel for a few months and then rent in Spain for a while. While we are waiting to complete on the house, we have decided to visit Spain for a month, and concentrate on this area. We are starting in javea on the 2nd Oct, then moraira and altea. We would love to meet some people and get an insight into life in this area.

If anyone wants to meet up, get in touch. We are 47 and 43, self employed IT professionals, like walking, sailing, diving and wine.

Hi All.  I see so many posts in this forum on the same topic, from all over Costa Blanca.

This February-March, I'll be staying in Cumbre del Sol, but would love to meet people in the area (defined as anywhere from Valencia down to Alicante).

Also-- If you browse the groups on meetup.com, you will see that there are social, walking/hiking and even gourmet cooking/dining groups where like-minded people meet and socialize ("socialise" LOL).  Some of these groups are:  Alicante Food Lovers, Costas Social Events, Meetup for Fellow ExPats in Alicante, Mountain/Walking Hiking Group, Weekend Adventures Walking Group, Alicante Network Ex-Pats Meet Locals, etc.

That is how I find people to meet for socializing and activity groups wherever I travel, if I go alone. I hope this helps.  ( Perhaps someone here can start a Meetup group and name it "We're All in the Same Boat" or something like that. )

Best of luck, Michael (from New York)

Hi, my husband and I bought our villa in Moravit two years ago. We spend about 16 weeks of the year there. Since buying the villa we have been busy working on the garden and have not got out much, so haven't made any new friends.

It would be nice to meet up for a coffee to share experiences and tips.

Regards

Linda

Hi Jules -

Moraira has a very active U3A group with lots of activities. See http://u3amoraira-teulada.org/

Within that, I'm in a group of solos (no longer married or partnered) who meet for meals, drinks, music gigs, concerts, dancing, walks, etc.. Most are retired or early-retired (in our late-50s / 60s) from various backgrounds, including other nationalities.

We all like to have a laugh and a good time. We've just launched our own blog / website here: https://soloamigosmoraira.wordpress.com/

Annual membership to U3A is currently a massive 5 euros!

Good luck 😎

Robert
