We have given our landlord 2 mths notice we need to move because of my health issues with walking up 20 steps and a 40 degree gradient every day has given me severe back problems, so have no choice. The landlord has now told us we need to move our stuff out of his storage area by 15th July! (which he agreed to at the time of us taking the tenancy, He lives downstairs on the lower apartment)) he said he was locking all our stuff up and we will  have to ask him every time if we want to get anything out. The washing machine he provided for us to use is locked up too now ...and we we have washing in there at present.

Sorry to be so long winded but my question is this.... is he allowed as a landlord to retaliate in this way or in any other way  in direct consequence of us asserting our rights as tenants (ie giving 2mths notice as per our contract) or is there something we can do or the agent can do to prevent this behaviour? Any advice gratefully recieved, thank you.

I would say that it is time your agent stepped in and resolved this you have given the appropriate notice and abided byou your contract.

Good luck

We have spoken to the agent and they said because the landlord is not using them to manage the property there isn't much they can do but email and advise us and negotiate between us. They can't make him comply in this case . They sent him email telling him our rights as tenants to privacy etc but anything else it looks like we are on our own! They did say we could get the police involved and get a Denuncia if any further occurred.

Thanks for the input.

Thank you so much Kimmy, our agent also mentioned this and at the time seemed quite drastic but this situation cannot go on so thinking seriously  of doing just that. Thank you for or your reply x
