We had someone cold calling today who said he was from Retsagas. He wanted 100 euros to change the pipes on my gas bottles. I checked out the company on the net,   interesting comments on trip advisor .! Anyway It reminded me that the rubber pipes need changing. Does anyone know if I can replace the pipes myself or do I have to contact the Gas company. We don't let the property so do I need a certificate?  Any advice would be appreciated. Many thanks, Kevin

You can change the pipe yourself, and it's available from most ferreterias, bricos and chinos.

Any gas installation should have a boletín - inspection certificate. Ask Repsol or Cepsa, as appropriate, who can do it. That way you won't get ripped off.

Many people don't bother about a boletín, but if there's a fire or explosion then not having one might invalidate your insurance.

Hi

There is an expiry date stamped on your pipe.(assuming it's an orange rubber pipe). You can do it yourself, just replace the clips

On top of the valuable advice offered above, PLEASE make sure it is the correct hose and not regular hose or something you had lying about. I am sure you wouldn't, but felt it was worth mentiojning
