Hi we have just arrived for a first long stay in Moraira and have a couple of questions:

1) Can anyone tell me is the tap water safe to drink and cook with or do you only use bought bottled water here? 2) We have our dog with us so are there any open areas / beaches where she is allowed off lead?3) We have our family visiting in early March for a week with their 4 month old baby, does anyone have a travel cot we could borrow? Thanks Fionna

We were told that tap water is safe to drink but have stuck to using bottled water only unless boiling the tap water .

In the Summer months dogs are only allowed on a small number of beaches approved by the Council in your area, outside the Summer season dogs are generally permitted on beaches. Whatever the time of year best to check with your local Town Hall as you could find yourself subject to a hefty on the spot fine.

Please have a look at this website about processionary caterpillars which can be deadly to inquisitive dogs. This is the time of year for them.

Tap water is very safe, I am still alive after 12 years of drinking it.

We’ve been here for a few months and use a Brita filter jug for the tap water. I find the taste is then absolutely fine.
