Hi,

I am in the process of selling up in the UK to move full time to the Moraira area. My house will be sold by the end of October. My belongings will go into storage in the Moraira area until I find, and move into my new Spanish home.

My family has a property in Andalucia that I can live in rent free, until I move into my new home.

Do I need an address to apply for residencia? Will an address in Andalucia be accepted, if I want to reside in the Costa Blanca?

I have searched google for an answer, but have had conflicting results. Can anyone help me please?

Thanks

Hi Ray,

Thanks for the advice, I think I will have to apply for residency in Andalucia. I will have to change the address when I move as you suggested. I suppose the important thing is to apply for the residencia before the end of the year.

Thanks Ray, really helpful.

I am on the understanding that once you have gained residency and decided to move to another area, you update your padron and with the new padron update you’re TIE

Hi Ray

Just looking through the post, you state in your reply "preferably a Spanish Bank Account".

I only ask on behalf of my partner because she cannot get out to open a Spainish account until mid November which won't therefore give 3 months of statements in connection with the residency application. She has enough of a deposit and just started to put in monthly amounts as well in a Transferwise account. This will then be transferred to a Spanish account once it has been opened. Se were hoping that this would then be transparent for the authorities to see.

Sorry to go on but thought I'd ask the question in case you or anyone has personal experience.

At the time of my first appointment before it was cancelled! I only had 2 months Spanish bank statements available = long story! and was informed that up to date uk statements would be acceptable.

Hi Peter

Thanks for the info.

I'm a bit confused why you have answered this post or is it because you have experienced and wanted to share the information. In any event it was useful to know so thanks.

Well as said long story, going back to early March applying for residency, lockdown stopped that, then again another appointment early July, with that being cancelled due to new TIE rules! Then finally getting all requirements, getting a new appointment mid August, then a second appointment for fingerprints, then another visit next week to collect my tie card, oh yes you can say I have had some experience. I did post my experiences on this website around mid August and once I have card in hand I will post my experiences, trials and tribulations!!!

Sound like a right load of grief but hopefully worth it for you.

Due to circumstances I can't do anything until late November so will see how it goes and as long as I get the applications in before 31/12 then that should be ok.

Good luck next week.
