We are coming  over to Moraira August/September.  I've heard it's fairly quiet at the moment there. Are all the restaurants, bars and shops open?  Will we be able to travel around.?

Would appreciate any feedback.  There are a few jobs to do on the apartment, are DIY stores ooen?

Right at this moment, you will be able to travel around but keep an eye on the forum as RayD provides updates hot from the horse's mouth.
DIY shops are open, masks are now mandatory in most situations and bars and restaurants are mostly open.
It seems that most tourist areas are understandably much quieter than normal at this time of year.

We have just returned from a ‘wander ‘ around Moraira this morning. All shops open, most bars and restaurants.

What is obviously missing are tourists to keep these places in business! There were few people about and few visible clientele occupying the bars.

Also obvious that many people, whom, rightly or wrongly we assumed to be tourists, were not wearing mascarillas.

Hi

Thank you for getting back to my question

Its helpful to have an insight.  We heard yesterday that Valencia region may be heading into a 14 day quarantine for arrivals? Some say fake news but cant find out much on the internet, have you heard anything?

Regards

Karen

I am sorry, I cannot answer your question. There have been 20 further flare ups in the Valencia region. Masks are compulsory everywhere, unless distancing can be guaranteed and it has been tightened up again in bars etc when one may only remove them if actually eating/drinking.

Guardia Civil seemed to be out in force in the area this morning, we have been stopped by them previously on our small winding lane 5km to the back of beyond.

I have checked El Pais online newspaper and the website rtve which is state backed tv. No specific statement that I can see re potential quarantine, so can’t really comment.
