Hello,

We’ve just moved to Cumbre del Sol and need all those things that make a house a home...towels, bedding, kitchen and bathroom items etc. Are there any large household and DIY stores near Moraira or Javea?

Thanks!

Cheryll

I recently moved out to Moraira and spent the first month renting in Cumbre del Sol - there are no shops on Cumbre other than a Pepe la Sal supermarket and Pharmacy, so you will need to come down the mountain for shopping.  There are a number of shops that sell all sorts of kitchen items and other homeware - the majority are called Merco China.  There is a very good one as you go into Moraira town just to the left of the entrance roundabout.  Best to park in the free car park on the left as you go into town and then walk to it - it is only a 2 minute walk.  There is another very large shop on a small retail park going out of Moraira on the Teulada road - this one is a little bit more like the British B & M store and you should be able to find everything you need here - there is also a Llidl and shop similar to Hobbycraft next door.

Thanks so much Cheryll, your reply is very helpful. There's a lot to find out as newbies to the area!

Save yourselves the trouble of buying rubbish at the Chinese bazaars, Ikea in Valencia is an hour up the motorway, V31 into Valencia, exit 9.

If you want something a bit better quality, then in Javea/Xabia there is a Yorkshire Linen shop - some of the stuff is really very good and I think they may buy ‘end of ranges’ from really high quality manufacturers as they appear sometimes to have limited quantities of this kind of thing.
