I don't normally rate Citizens Advice Bureau Spain because they often give inaccurate information. However, when I saw the following I checked it with the Spanish papers and a couple of the computer technology websites, and it appears to be accurate.

If you use the app from any of Caixabank, Bankinter, Bankia, BBVA, EVO Banco, Kutxabank or Santander, be careful.

The banker has some concerns due to the expats.
"What happens if you die before the loan is paid off?" The banker asks.
"I'll send you a cheque from heavan, because God would want all my obligations taken care of," The expat answered.
"But what if you go the other direction?" the  Spanish banker queried.
"Then I'll deliver it to you in person." (as above).

Jim, I am sorry about this intervention in what is a very important thread.

However I do hope it brings traffic to the post and others take heed of your advice.

As for Villas.  Well, in keeping with the theme of the topic I think he is a Banker ( I am glad I spelt that correctly 🙂 ).

Well he most certainly is a Card.

LeckyLes.

I received the message from CAB but wasn't clear whether I should uninstall it (I'm with Bankia) or just be aware of anything suspicious when using it?

All I could find about detecting it is:

I'm not an expert on Android, and know nothing about Apple devices, but it seems that you won't actually see any difference. However, if you open the app and then tap the square overview icon to view what apps are open, you will see an app without a name if you are infected.

And I couldn't find any way of removing it.
