As a bit of light relief, I decided to post some pictures of my more recent attempts at wood work.

I'll post them individually so I can add comments in case anyone is interested.

And before anyone starts carping that this has nothing to do with Spain, it is in the off-topic forum, and I used Spanish materials for them.

The first is just a decorative basket. You just take a piece of wood and cut decreasing rings in it, to whatever pattern you choose to use.

You'll have to click on the images to view them in their entirety.

This one is simple pendants. The left one is from the prunings off our olive tree. It's an abstract design and, if you squint, I hope you might think it's representative of a tree. I made a couple of dozen of the olive design, for Margaret's daughter to give to her clients.

The one on the right is from a piece of encina. I thought it was a nice log, so didn't put it on the fire.

Margaret spends a lot of time doing crochet, knitting and cross-stitch. She used to just put her ball of wool etc in a plastic bag, but it kept being pulled out and rolled around the floor, which wasn't always pristine clean.

I decided she deserved something better. To make it stable, I made a hollow in the base and filled it with scraps of lead, to make it stay in place.

I'll leave it at that for now but, if there is any interest, I'll post some more.

They're beautiful Jim.  I love the way your designs have made the most of the natural  beauty of the wood 👏👏👏

Best wishes,

Kim

Amazing Jim. So artistic and imaginative. It must be very satisfying.
