Hi SWC,

Coincidentally, I've just read the same information in The Local 👍

Kind regards,

Kim

At last! I might be able to get my vaccine. Does anyone know what the time span is between having the first and second dose?

Ì got my first jab of Pfizer on 16th April and the second on 7th May. You do the maths.

Hi Audrey,

If you have Pfizer it will be 3 weeks; if it's AstraZeneca it will be 12 weeks.

Kind regards,

Kim

That's great news for those in Valencia region and encouraging for those of us wanting to visit Spain.

I am 77, live in Alicante Province and had my second jab last Wednesday exactly 3 weeks after my first one.

Although that's great news I am rather disappointed to hear that there might be a 3 month wait for the second dose of Astra Zeneca vaccine.

The 12 week gap has been standard in the UK. The first dose gives a very high percentage of protection, over 70%, and means more people get some protection rather than a fewer number fuller protection. Once the second dose is given you have around 90% protection. It has worked well here and reduced the number of deaths significantly.

Aitch..
