Driving from Manchester to Mutxamel at the end of this month. Opted for ferry from Portsmouth to Bilbao. Just wondering if there is anything I should look out for/avoid en route. Any advice about the journey would be a great help. We are driving with a small dog (chi-Tzu). She has her passport and all inoculations up to date.

Save money on tolls and go via Burgos, Madrid and Albacete.

Take seasick tablets if you're prone to motion sickness- it can get a bit rough coming into Bilbao. Otherwise it's a great crossing and hope you see the Dolphins and perhaps some whales too
