Air con unit re gassed.

Apologies, I do not know anyone in your area but wanted to offer some further guidance. 

Please ensure whoever does the work is certified to work on refrigerant gases and more importantly, you will need to understand why your AC unit has lost gas in the first place? (I take it you have not already worked that part out?!)

Once the root cause is known, the repair should be completed, the pipework will need to be re-purged to ensure it is completely dry and then the unit can be regassed. 

If there is no reason known and a repair not completed then you will simply be releasing the new refrigerant gas into the atmosphere! The works should be covered under the requirements of the EU regulations for Refrigerant gases (F-Gases)

Hi, thanks for replying, is it unusual for the unit to nerd regassing, you seem a bit surprised?. I will try to find an engineer. Would you have a rough idea of the cost involved pleased. Thanks again. Theresa.

Are you sure the unit needs re gassing and not just the filters cleaning which you can do yourself.

Generaly speaking air cons (home or car) can be regarded as gas charged for life and should therefore not need regassing unless they have leaked or have been worked on in a manner which required the gas be evacuated and recovered which a professional can and must do as it's forbidden to release it to the atmosphere.

There are numerous possible reasons for an air con to be not functioning correctly and although a loss of gas is one of them it's not necessarily the most likely.
