Hi , we are currently looking at properties to buy on the Mar Menor. However we have just come across properties located in Tossal Gros near Oliva.

There are a lot of properties for sale at a very reasonable price with stunning views.

What's the Catch ?

We are thinking of going up there in the next few days ,we know the properties are located up a mountain which we don't mind, but I just think there must be something else . Any info appreciate asap as we are only here for another 9 days

Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul

We are buying a lovely large villa in tosal gros panaroma 1 the views are stunning and 12 minutes to the beach , nice and quiet unfortunately you have to drive to get to a shop or bar, there is a restaurant up there , but it is currently closed.

We found our villa that was £100,000 cheaper than in moraira for the same size

Hi Pete, thanks for the reply, it looks as though you have bagged a bargain.

I noticed how reasonable the prices of a nice villa was and wondered why that was so. You obviously did your homework before you purchased ,can you share some of the reasons why you decided to buy there. We would be looking to live there full - time. Any information would be helpful

Many thanks

Paul

Hi Paul

We came to Spain last year and started at mojacar and worked are way up the coast staying in areas and visiting villas for sale with estate agents

We were looking for sea views, own pool and not too English and enough room to accommodate family

As soon as we viewed the villa in tosal gros for the views and value for money we were sold

The beach in Oliva and Gandia is stunning and not too busy

Christine at white sands home’s has been very helpful

Hi Pete

Thanks for that we may take a trip up there next week and have a look.

We had made arrangements to go this week but picked up on a few negative vibes and so cancelled. There is no denying the great value for money given the location but I just wondered why. We are currently looking at Campoverde which is a lovely urbanization but the properties are so small and expensive. We have been searching for the last 3 years and like yourself looked around Mojacar , we thought we had decided on a location here but will now have to look near to Oliva which is an area I always fancied but thought was quiet in the winter and expensive.

Ah well the search goes on

Thanks again

Paul

Hi

I dont know the area but my advice would be to always have mortgage on any property you buy here. Even if its for 10.000€.

The banks will never lend on a property that is dodgy.

Good luck

Hi, we moved to Campoverde last march from uk and we love, love love! It's safe, laid back with enough going on if you want some village life . Like you we looked at tons of places but when we stopped here by chance for some lunch we were sold. We're a five minute walk from the main strip, a 10 minute drive from the main town Pilar and 20 minutes from the beach. There's a mix of English and Spanish , Dutch, Welsh, German . We stop and talk to more people and have made more friends in a year than we ever did in the Uk. We're in our early 50's and feel we are living the dream. I'm not trying to sell you Campoverde, you haven't got see views or mountains but you could do a lot worse! Also, we were told to get a mortgage, even if it's a small one as it offers you some protection. Good luck with your search, hope you find your dream home .

Hi, thanks for the reply, very re-assuring .We were up in campoverde today and think we may have found something we like. My big issue is that I don't want to make a commitment until brexit has been sorted. I too retired aged 51 and have been living in France for the last 12 years, but now it's time to move on

Thanks again for confirming what a nice place Campoverde is to live

Paul

Oliva is a working town therefore is not much quieter in winter, infact it's nicer, the only months you get a huge influx of tourists, mainly from Madrid as they own holiday homes here, is July and August. The beach is,very busy then as are the shops and restaurants but it's only for a few weeks. I don't know Tosal Gros as rented at the beach then bought in Palmera, a sleepy village ten minutes away.
