Hi there,

apologies for asking these questions having not look through Jim's guides.

If I own a property in Oliva and live in the Uk, what can I expect to be charged for monthly electric bills and water rates in Spain for a unoccupied two bedroom property. I also wondered if the refuse collection charges will come under the annual tax I pay for the property.

I'm doing my sums on owning two properties but living in Uk until I retire and hopefully move to Spain permantly. So any other expenses I have not thought of would be useful. Thank you .   Sean.

If you use the search facility at the top right hand side and search for electricity standing charges in "All the Forum" and the same for water, the information can be found quite easily.
If you then look for Jim's Guides in a tab in the line underneath the search bar you will find lots more information.
Rubbish charges might be paid with the Car Tax, usually in April, or IBI in October or with your water bill, it depends on your area.
You will have:
IBI
Standing charges for water and electric
Non Resident Tax (possibly with a gestor to help)
Rubbish
Community Charge (if applicable)
Keyholder for if or when something goes wrong
Insurance (terms usually include max time left unoccupied)

Keep an eye particularly on Residency requirements post Brexit.
