Hi,

To obtain the work visa you will need to land a work position first and then your prospective employer will need to apply for a work visa on your behalf. You cannot get a work visa without having a job offer first.

In Spain All work opportunities must be offered to an EU citizen first and only if there is no suitable candidate for the position in all of the EU then the prospective employer can offer the work position to a non EU citizen. The prospective employer will need to prove to the Spanish consulate that they cannot find a suitable EU citizen for the job.

Here is a list of all visas available:

Hi Steve does that apply for the audio visual sector visa? My son has been offered an audio visual job in Ibiza (Apr-Sept incl). Fixed term conditional contract. They have told him they will apply for the work permit and he must apply for the visa and get private health insurance. Any advice would be grea

There is a section within the link below about the audio/Visual sector. It explains all that is required.

This is brilliant and so helpful. Honestly can’t thank you enough. I last question; where can he get his necessary documents translated into Spanish because I believe that have to be apostilised (if that’s the correct word!).

Can’t be done as a normal translation. I think the consulate require it in a certain format. No worries I’m sure I’ll find out.

Can't help you with that one as I don't live in the UK. It's some years since I got my paperwork done.....

Maybe the local citizens advice bureau could suggest somewhere.
