Should be, but the last word ist no spoken yet. It all depends on who will get enough votes to form the new Government next month. Keep your fingers crossed.
Many thanks .

I'd prefer it not to be toll free!

What about south of Alicante?

no its only the north road past Alicante...you still have to troll through San Miguel and the dodgy road through Villamartin to avoid the two tolls to get to La Zenia...or try the 332 which is a car park in summer....safety is put after money...

When considering this, bear in mind the AP-7 only has 2 lanes and all it needs is a lorry overtaking another and you have the classic A14 UK motorway problem! A lot of HGV's that currently use the 332 will immediately transfer onto the AP-7. There are several ways to look at this subject. Two of them are as tourists or expats living here that don't work for a living. Scenario one, free motorway (for those who it applies to north of Alicante) means free use of the road, saving on tolls. But this new toll free motorway might get very busy and the time saving it currently offers might be severely reduced. Scenario two is that in theory the N332 will be quicker than it has been, but will it?
Scenario three, bear in mind this is being done for the benefit of the Spanish, is that they will be able to make quicker commuter journeys to work but our quick dash to the airport is a thing of the past.
As mentioned before I'd like to see the tolls remain and have a choice of a busier 332 or a very quiet toll road.
You pays your money and takes your choice. Oops, not any more.

Unfortunately the 332 isn’t just a car park during high season, the run through Santa Pola to San Javier must be an accident black spot due the volume of all types of traffic on a single track at all times of the day and night. Bad enough paying €2.20 low season but the increase to €3.90 during the summer is just tourist exploitation.
