Where I live at present is a lovely area but I would prefer somewhere quieter, and residential.

Living in the campo is not an option, so can anyone suggest a village suitable for a solo female OAP, please?

We live in Adsubia, 3km from Pego. It might suit you. It is split between the old village on the main road and a modern urbanisation on the hill behind it. There is a good mix of expats of all nationalities and very friendly locals living in both places.

The original village has a small general grocery store, a baker, a butcher, two cafe bars and a restaurant. It has a doctors surgery open a couple of hours a day with a very well respected doctor, and a small Correos branch office. There is a large modern public pool with bar. There is a British mobile hairdresser. A multi national zumba group. The only thing it doesn't have is a bus service, but you can always get a taxi (or a lift) to Pego, five minutes away, for supermarkets, banks, medical centre, etc..

if you don't need to be to near the sea you could have a look at benissa, one of the oldest towns on the costa blanca, has everything you need including buses and train station.

You have moved to the second noisiest country on the planet next to Japan.   What makes you think that you will ever find somewhere quiet?  Get yourself some ear plugs and resign yourself to Spain.
