Hello Canadian person I'm in Oliva as we speak and have thought of the same so have made a few contacts the estate agents I think go by the name Oliva casas, they are right next to town hall, the girl there is English, Tracy she's very helpful and she herself has a house in old town, she introduced me to a couple who were having work done, in fact they were knocking down wall to get the bed in!!  I don't think they were doing it themselves, I intend to see them in the next few days I shall try and glean more knowledge for you. There's a local group on Facebook called new oliva tattler, try and get on there they have all sorts of help on there, very friendly bunch. Oh and my brother is Canadian, he's visiting soon, he lives Ottawa and my sister BC. Good luck and if you need builders clean look no further I can also do builders labourer too. Good luck to you fabulous place I'm sure you'll agree, my name is Pippa.

there are many cowboys in the oliva area, be very wary and get several quotes for any work, together with references from any of their customers, never give money up front ! from my own experience oliva is a very vibrant place but do not buy or live in the old side of town, on the hills, as the traffic fumes rise and are unhealthy, the main street is always busy as lorries will not pay to use the motor way and so travel through town, ask local residents the best place to buy in oliva, and good luck
