How Difficult/Easy is to get residency now?
I know it's like last minute but is it still possible to get residency in Spain? We're British and I know with the B word getting in the way now it may be too late.
Any advise would be appreciated.

As far as I am aware, until the end of the transition period (31 Dec 2020) we are still being considered as EU immigrants and appointments are being dealt with in Alicante only.
Thanks Cheryl, I thought so. We are thinking of going over to Spain within the next few weeks.
Thanks again!

I don't know about the Valencian province, but in Alicante it is possible to make an appointment for residency for the following day.
Provided the EU agree a December 31st 2020 deadline for Brexit, you will have until then to obtain residency under the present rules.
I assume you've seen:
I'm a bit puzzled by you saying that you are thinking of coming here in the next few weeks, as that sounds like you are still non-resident.

Thanks Jim. I asked about residency because I've heard of Brits going out to Spain and being faced with staff at some residency offices refusing to issue residency. We just don't want to waste our time if we won't be allowed a residency card after 3 months.

That's the problem, because some offices apply their own criteria which legally aren't required. Examples:
Requiring several months worth of credits to a Spanish bank account.
Requiring a lump sum in a Spanish bank account.
Requiring official translations of e.g. bank statements and marriage certificates even if the content is perfectly clear.
The problems are compounded by the fact that individual offices don't publish what they require, and that I don't know of any gestors who can advise what the requirements are.
Thanks again Jim. We currently live in Bulgaria and have done for 11 years. We've had enough now over here, mainly because in those years we have seen no positive improvements in the infrastructure. The health system is the worst in the EU after Romania.
I could go on but that's why we want to make a new start.
I read your guide and I have bookmarked it as it's a great help.
