Hi Guys,

Can anyone offer advice on removal firms and costs? Moving a house full (4 bedroom size) from Bedfordshire to Ontinyent... getting some quotes in the UK by just googling... but thought we'd ask the guys that have already walked this path!

Thank you all in advance!

Hi Rich - I’ve had 2 quotes just this week from UK companies for a large 3 bed house, one was by phone survey and the more expensive was a pretty thorough FaceTime call. Quotes are £5000 and £6000 inc vat. These both include full packing service which I’d requested. Hope this is useful.

We had quotes for large 3 x bed house as above, a few years ago. Ranged from 3K + vat to 8k +. In retrospect should’ve gone for the middling one of around 5.5K +, but didn’t, went for the least expensive (never do this!!!!!!) and received a huge bill extra because they'd underestimated (by this time they had our goods!).

We’d chosen what I perceived as a reputable local company, they were extremely nice, not very efficient, and several irreplaceable items arrived completely broken and my 17thC clock had simply been thrown in a cardboard box with no protective packaging.

So you pays your money and you takes your pick..................
