Hi has anyone any knowledge or experience of having to spend an extended period in the UK ? That is beyond the time allowed due to exceptional circumstances?

This is for a person with TIE.

Also does anyone know how to get the more permanent residency if you have lived in Spain more than 6 years ?

I would appreciate any replies where you have personal experience or know the answer from official sources. I got no help from the consulate .

Hi,

I don’t fall into the criteria that you have requested to give an answer, however I was looking for similar information recently and found this guide. It gives a few different scenarios to guide you.

Hope this helps

We went to the UK to look after our daughter who was ill and being single needed help. Her health declined and had several stays in our local hospital. We stayed in the UK for just over 3yrs. The only problem experienced was our SIP cards had to be renewed as we had used the UK NHS for obtaining medication. After the death of our daughter we came back to Spain and carried on with our lives.

Hope this is helpful.
