Hi all! Hope someone can help.
I am planning to purchase a property around Orba area with a view to renovate into a holiday home potentially for long term use as a retirement option.
I have been researching the process of planning, certification etc of construction works and am comfortable with managing that.
What I need help with is finding out requirements re electrical & plumbing (gas, water, sewerage) certification? Is there a certifying body for the trades (eg RECI covers registered electrical installers in Ireland)
Is there a requirement to contract work out or can a capable person conduct works themselves?
Are there printed building standards (or online) that can be used as reference to fulfill building code compliance?
