Highway Robbery

I am new to this forum. We bought a little Villa in Orba in February this year and have returned today after having building work done and such. We travelled through France and Spain by car as we were bringing lots of stuff with us.
We stopped (last stop before Orba) 3 hours away at services near a place called Aposta. As we drew away from the services we were registering a flat tyre. On pulling over to the hard shoulder indeed our right back tyre was completely flat. Within a few minutes of stopping a car pulled into the hard shoulder and a chap got out and offered to help.
Basically in the space of 3 mins, he had distracted us and an accomplice had got into the passenger door and are both my handbag and my husband's 'manbag' . Cards, money and driver's licence as well as a tablet and Kindle.
The aftermath was terrifying and lengthy ending in a 8 hour ordeal , 3 on the motorway most of it alone and the rest waiting for recovery and getting a new tyre (which had been pierced with a blade), the rest in a police station.
The police were overjoyed as we got the whole thing on Dash Cam.
W have received nothing but kindness from everyone since. The tyre man who kindly lent us 150€ , the motorway maintenance men, the civil police the recovery man , our lovely neighbours and our lovely builder who lent us even more money.
But be warned , highway robbery is live and kicking along the motorways of Spain.
