The notary does not speak English but one of his assistants is fluent and very helpful.

Sorry I posted this before I finished it.   They will notarise English documents - the assistant translates them into Spanish so the notary knows what he is signing.  I am not sure what you are notarising but if they are copies of identity documents to be sent to England you should check that they do not also need an Apostile certificate for each copy.  If you do the notary will send them to Alicante to get such certificates.  Hope that helps.

I just wondered if a Notary signature on both my Spanish and English Wills would be cheaper than using a UK lawyer?
