Good morning

Would appreciate any advice on how to fly my 2 dogs out to Spain.

I would prefer a company to do it bcos I dont like paperwork but any recommendations would  be welcome.

My dogs have had rabies injections and are microchipped. Waiting for brexit result to get passports.

Please help.

Kind regards

Chris

Depending on the size/weight you will have to check with different airlines about their policies regarding transport of animals. In any case avoid any stopovers or, worse, transhipments. If you ship as freight find out about documents (healt certiifcates etc.) which must accompany shipment. Have someone available for immediate pickup at destination airport (usually cargo terminal). Most budget airlines will not carry unaccompanied animals. Traditional carriers (IB, BA, KL, LH etc.) involve in most cases transshipment and stressing overlays.

Thank you for the info. Really wanted a company to ship them by air.

Do not even think of surface transport. Unless the dogs can travel with you, the only alternative will be air cargo with a traditional airline offering direct flights wherever possible.

We used a professional animal transport company for our two cats - they travelled overland and were delivered to a cattery local to our proposed property to await our collection when we had moved in and there wasn’t so much chaos.

They were perfectly alright, it was much easier than the air freight alternative - and somewhat cheaper - we took them to a cattery adjacent to the courier’s offices a couple of days before proposed travel, so that they could collect them at their convenience. They were registered with DEFRA and insured and complied with all animal safety standards. Would do the same system again if necessary.

Thank you for your message.

One of our dogs doesn't travel in cars very well so our vet suggested by air would be quicker and less stressful.

Thank you for your help.

Kind regards

Chris

We will be using a company to ship them by air. We will also be travelling with them.

Just wanted to know what companies people have used.

Thanks for your help.

Kind regards

Chris

It may still be easier to use an animal transport company as most of them have relationships with appropriate airlines and can sort it all out fir you more easily.

We flew out staffy 6 years ago to Lanzarote. It cost us £650 that included the crate that was airline approved.

We took him to the airport which was east Midlands he had to be there 3 hours before the flight we flew with monarch at the time and we flew on the same flight. The company did all the paperwork for us and if I had any queries I could call them. I think the company was called FL logistics. I would Google and different companies will come up. I'm not sure now as there aren't as many planes from the UK that fly pets.
