Satellite TV electronic full 8day program guide no longer working. WHY?

My UK TV epg has stopped working on the Satellite signal and only showing now and next information instead of full 8day information, much to the annoyance of my wife who likes to set up and record programs in advance using this information onto a large hard drive connected to the TV. I understand that the epg info comes via the internet and have checked the TV is set to this option so has anybody any ideas as to what may have gone wrong as it was working perfectly until last week but now it is not??? The TV is a Phillips 55 inch smart TV around 4 years old.

Usually only Freesat TVs (and Sky boxes) have access to the 7 day UKTV EPG data, which comes via satellite.

All other TVs and receivers will usually show only now and next information.

But some TVs and receivers , using various apps or addons, can get this data via the internet.

So check although you have checked your TV is connected to the internet, you need to check the app / addons that allow it to get the EPG data from whatever source you use.

Thanks Sat and TV guy for your helpful suggestion. I will check my apps for where the TV might get it's epg info from, although I am still at a loss as to why it should suddenly fail to populate the table with program information when I have not altered anything. Most of the apps we're pre installed anyway so I probably won't know exactly where to look!
